What is the Botox® Brow Lift?

Botulinum toxin, commonly known as Botox®, is a neurotoxin used in aesthetic medicine to block signal transmission between nerve cells and muscles. It relaxes the muscles, making it especially popular for treating wrinkles. Botox® can also be used for a gentle eyebrow lift.

I recommend avoiding blood-thinning medication for about two weeks before the Botox® injection. However, I urge you to never stop taking these medications without consulting your doctor. You should also avoid alcohol and tobacco on the day of the treatment.

What is the procedure for the Botox® treatment in Munich?

The treatment itself lasts approximately 20 minutes. After applying a local anaesthetic to the treatment area, I inject the botulinum toxin into the muscles under the eyebrows at several small points.

Aftercare and results

After the treatment, most of my patients can immediately return to their normal activities. I recommend taking it easy on the day of the treatment and avoiding exercise or strenuous activity. You should also protect your face from the sun.

You will typically notice the first results within a few hours. However, it takes a few weeks to see the final results. The effects last between 3 and 6 months, after which they gradually wear off. A touch-up treatment can be done easily. The more follow-up treatments you have, the longer the effects tend to last.

Botox® treatment is considered low-risk and very safe when performed by an experienced doctor. However, side effects can never be completely ruled out. Temporary swelling or redness may occur after a Botox® Brow Lift. However, these symptoms usually subside on their own within a few days.
