What is injection lipolysis?

The procedure of fat reduction with the fat removal injection is also known as injection lipolysis. The injection of a specific active ingredient causes fat cells to disappear – and with them the most stubborn fat deposits. The injection lipolysis administration is not complicated and only takes about 15 to 45 minutes. The exact time depends on the treatment area and its size. The injection lipolysis is used to treat extremely resistant fat deposits and larger problem areas.

For whom is the treatment suitable?

The injection lipolysis is aimed at people who want to lose weight as well as people who only want to get rid of stubborn fat deposits. The latter in particular often suffer psychologically from their problem zones because they have otherwise achieved a body they are proud of with a balanced diet and exercise. What should be considered before the treatment?

No special preparation needs to be followed before the procedure. Patients undergoing injection lipolysis must also be physically healthy. Treatment during pregnancy or breastfeeding is not recommended.

How does the treatment work?

Dr Duve will explain to you how the treatment works and what the expected result will be in your specific case. He will also inform you about the risks and side effects. You can take this opportunity to ask questions about the procedure and express your wishes. The injection lipolysis application only takes about 15 to 45 minutes on the treatment day. The exact time depends on the treatment area and its size. Dr Duve marks the area to be treated and then injects the active ingredient prepared for it. No anaesthetic is required as you will only feel a short prick. However, it is also possible to apply an anaesthetic cream to the skin.

What should I consider after the treatment?

Patients can go home right after the treatment. The next day, patients can already go back to work. However, sporting activities and visits to saunas and swimming pools should be avoided for about two to three days. Give your body a few days to recover so that you can fully enjoy the result after the recovery period.

When will the result be visible?

You may experience slight redness and swelling in the treated area during the first few hours and days. However, this is quite normal and will subside after a while. At that point, you can already see initial results. However, the final result is only visible about four to six weeks after the treatment.

How much does the treatment cost?

What are the risks?

The risks are low – in the trusting hands of Dr Stefan Duve. Nevertheless, the following side effects are to be expected:

• Swelling,
• Bruising.
