RADIESSE® TREATMENT

What is Radiesse®?

Radiesse® is a derma filler that is injected into the skin, where its high-quality ingredients correct age-related wrinkles, compensate for volume loss and tighten sagging connective tissue. The filler is unique because it consists of a smooth carrier gel and microspheres – small spherical parts made of calcium hydroxyapatite.

For whom is the treatment suitable?

In only 30 minutes, medium to deep wrinkles can be improved and concealed with lasting effect. For most patients, the result even lasts longer than a year, depending on the individual situation and skin structure. Besides wrinkles, the treatment can also sustainably improve volume loss of the connective tissue, which often happens as people age.

Which areas can be treated?

The results are visible immediately after the treatment and last up to one year. Generally, all wrinkles can be treated, including dynamic, actinic and static wrinkles. A Radiesse® anti-wrinkle injection is especially advisable for the following wrinkles:

• Nasolabial folds
• Marionette lines
• Chin wrinkles, chin crease
• Jawline

Furthermore, the cheek area can be treated, and a cheekbone correction can be carried out. The jawline contour can also be perfectly redefined with this procedure. The skin often begins to sag in this area as we age, which negatively affects our facial contour. Radiesse® can be used to correct these signs of ageing. The hands are another treatment area. With age, hands also lose their youthfulness, which makes many people feel insecure and want treatment.

What should be considered before the treatment?

Wrinkle treatment with Radiesse® is a minimally invasive treatment, which means that the skin is not damaged but merely pierced with a fine syringe.

There are no scars, and the treatment is very low risk. Nevertheless, Dr Stefan Duve recommends that you prepare appropriately before each procedure. You should also avoid alcohol and blood thinners for about 14 days. If you must take them, consult your attending physician. In many cases, a good solution can be found

How does the treatment work?

Before each treatment, Dr Duve will discuss with you which procedure is most suitable for you and what results you can expect. He will also inform you about any risks, and you will have the opportunity to ask questions and express your wishes. The Radiesse® treatment will only take about 30 minutes and will be performed under local anaesthesia. Afterwards, you can cool the treated areas and go home immediately.

What should I consider after the treatment?

As this is a minor procedure, there are no major precautionary measures to be taken. Take it easy on your skin the day after the treatment, cool the areas if necessary and enjoy the result. You are also welcome to make an appointment for a follow-up treatment, about two to four weeks after the treatment. During this appointment, the result can be checked and, if necessary, further improved.

How long does the healing take and what are the side effects?

When will the result be visible?

One of the treatment’s advantages is that the first results are almost instantly visible. The complete result can be seen after two to four weeks. This is also the time when you can make further changes and improvements if you wish. The treatment with Dr Duve starts at EUR 500. However, it is important to note that the exact price depends on your individual situation and the area of the body to be treated. Therefore, Dr Duve offers a personal consultation before the treatment, where you will receive all information about the treatment and answers to any questions you may have. Additionally, you will receive the exact price for your personal situation and treatment. This price is then binding and includes all practice and staff fees.
