What is the vampire lift and how does it work?

The vampire lift is a modern treatment for effectively combatting wrinkles, sagging and damaged skin as well as hair loss. It is also called the platelet-rich plasma (PRP) method. I take blood from the patient and centrifuge it. It is then processed with the utmost care and injected into the desired area of the skin. This revitalises the skin and gives it an opportunity to regenerate and produce enough moisture again. The result: significantly fewer wrinkles and radiantly beautiful skin.

Scars can also be treated with this treatment. It can also be used to help hair roots regain more strength and thus stop hair loss.

For whom is the treatment suitable?

The PRP method is an excellent choice for people who would like to have their wrinkles treated and to improve their complexion. Generally, all types of wrinkles can be treated with the vampire lift. This includes static wrinkles caused by age, dynamic wrinkles caused by facial movements, and actinic wrinkles caused by environmental factors. The PRP method leads to a visible improvement of the skin. After the treatment, the skin looks noticeably revitalised with a more pleasant complexion. People of all skin types can undergo the treatment.

Which areas can be treated?

The PRP method is mainly used to treat wrinkles on the face – this is called a traditional vampire lift. Common treatment areas include crow’s feet, nasolabial folds and forehead wrinkles, but other areas can also be treated. I treat the following areas of the body with the PRP method:

• Neck
• Décolleté
• Scalp
• Back of the hand
• Stretch marks

Besides wrinkles, it can also be used to treat surgical and injury scars as well as acne scars.

What are other treatment options with the PRP method?

PRP treatment can also be an option for people who are losing their hair. During the treatment, individual areas of the scalp are strengthened. Hair not only appears stronger, but is actually stronger. Although hair that has already fallen out does not grow back, the hair loss does not progress any further. The PRP method is particularly suitable for patients who have undergone a hair transplant. Hair roots or hair follicles are stimulated again by the PRP method. This ensures that the condition achieved by the hair transplant is permanent and that hair does not fall out in other places, which can eventually lead to problems for patients, who then usually require another hair transplant.

What should be considered before the treatment?

You should refrain from taking blood thinners for about 14 days before the treatment. You should also reduce your alcohol or tobacco consumption on the day of the treatment and preferably avoid it altogether. The vampire lift is minimally invasive. This means that the treatment is not very challenging for the human body; the skin is only minimally injured. The treatment is also performed on an outpatient basis. Therefore, you do not need to take any special precautions. However, we kindly ask you to come to the treatment without make-up.

How does the vampire lift work?

It is important to me to inform all patients comprehensively and to explain the respective treatment. In a personal consultation, I present the procedure in detail. I provide information about the expected result and inform you about the pre- and aftercare.

In PRP treatment, platelet-rich plasma (PRP) concentrate is removed, isolated and processed. It is then gently injected into the skin. The processed autologous blood gives the body and skin the opportunity to regenerate. The treatment takes about 30 minutes and is performed on an outpatient basis. There is no need to stay in the clinic, and afterwards you can immediately return to your usual social activities again.

What should I be aware of after the treatment?

Redness and swelling are possible, but they usually disappear quickly. You can cool the treated areas and should take it easy. You should avoid strenuous activities or sports for the first two days.

How long does the healing take and when will the result be visible?

Healing does not usually take long. You will also see the first results immediately. Although it takes a few weeks for the final result to be visible, an improvement in the skin can already be seen in the first few days after the PRP treatment. In most cases, patients can return to all activities after the first day. They can socialise and work the whole time.

What side effects can occur?

The risk is low. However, the minimally invasive procedure may cause mild side effects: the most likely are temporary swelling and redness of the treated area. However, these side effects subside quickly. Nonetheless, if you are unsure or have any questions, you can contact me.

The treatment depends on the particular part of the body that needs to be rejuvenated with the vampire lift. Generally, the costs for the PRP treatment to combat wrinkles start at EUR 400.
