What are exosomes and how do they work?

Exosomes are the body’s natural cell products in the form of tiny vesicles that occur in every human cell. Among other things, they contain proteins and growth factors that stimulate collagen production. This improves skin texture, elasticity and moisture. Exosomes play a key role in cell communication. They are used in aesthetic medicine due to their regenerative properties. They promote tissue regeneration. Additionally, they can improve skin quality and support hair health.

Compared to invasive procedures such as surgical skin tightening, I can offer you a minimally invasive and therefore very gentle method with the exosome treatment, which only requires a short recovery time. You will be ready to socialise again immediately after the treatment. However, exosome research is still in the early stages and not all methods are authorised in Germany despite being used abroad. Before the exosome treatment

I advise my patients not to take any blood thinners such as aspirin or paracetamol for about 2 weeks before the injection. However, I urge you to never stop taking these medications without consulting your primary doctor.

Treatment procedure

Each of my treatments begins with a detailed consultation. We talk about your wishes and decide together whether exosome injections are a suitable treatment option for you. During this consultation, I will inform you about the procedure and possible side effects. I will also give you a prognosis for the expected result.

The actual application usually takes about 30 minutes and is performed without anaesthetic. However, we can also apply an anaesthetic cream upon request. The PRP (platelet rich plasma) extracted from your blood is injected into the relevant treatment area along with specially cultivated and extracted plant exosomes using a fine needle. You can leave my practice immediately afterwards and go about your daily routine.

Aftercare and results

Slight swelling or redness may occur after the treatment, but it should subside on its own after a short time. It may be helpful to cool the treated areas. To achieve the desired result, several sessions at regularly scheduled intervals may be advisable.

Initial results usually appear after a few weeks and improve over time. In most cases, the final result lasts for roughly 1 year.
