PROFHILO® TREATMENT

What is Profhilo® and who is it suitable for?

Profhilo® is a bio-modelling treatment for ageing skin. Treatment with the product triggers the immediate regeneration of the skin and stimulates the body’s natural hyaluronic acid production. Hyaluronic acid ensures that our skin produces moisture and does not sag. However, the production of hyaluronic acid decreases over the years. A treatment with Profhilo®, which is gently injected into your skin by Dr Duve, supports the production of hyaluronic acid as well as elastin and collagen.

A Profhilo® treatment is suitable for people of all skin types, who do not want to undergo a surgical intervention but are looking for a gentle treatment that supports the body’s own ability to regenerate the skin. The treatment focuses primarily on improving the appearance of the skin, rather than treating deeper wrinkles. Fillers such as hyaluron and lipofilling or other methods (sutures, Ultherapy, etc.) are more suitable for treating wrinkles.

Which areas can be treated?

Hands also tend to become wrinkled at some point, which bothers many people. Treatment with Profhilo® is also a good solution for wrinkled hands. Other areas of use are: elbows, knees, upper arms and legs.

What should be considered before the treatment?

The treatment takes place on an outpatient basis and without surgery. The unique anti-ageing treatment was specifically designed to ensure that your skin regenerates and becomes firmer with a treatment that is gentle on the skin. The treatment takes only a few minutes and is minimally invasive. Only a very thin needle is used, which ensures that the skin is not damaged too much. Before the treatment, however, you should make sure that you do not take any blood thinners for a period of ten days (if necessary, consult your doctor). It is also important that you do not consume any alcohol for about 24 hours before the treatment.

How does the Profhilo® treatment work?

First, Dr Duve will make a personal appointment with you for a consultation. He will inform you about the options and extremely low risks. You will have an opportunity to express your wishes and ask questions. The treatment itself takes only a few minutes and is almost painless due to prior application of a light pain-relieving cream. Customarily, a treatment consists of two sessions, during which Profhilo® is injected at several predetermined points in the area to be treated. The treatment is not associated with any downtime and is performed twice at intervals of around four weeks to achieve a particularly favourable result.

What should I consider after the treatment?

Slight redness and, in rare cases, swelling are possible. Therefore, it is recommended to cool the affected areas. Otherwise, you do not have to expect any downtime, and you can also carry on with your usual social activities. However, you should avoid exercising and strenuous activities for the first 24 hours.

When will the result be visible?

The result after a treatment with Profhilo® is already visible after the first session, but it only reaches its peak after the second appointment. The results are visible for several months, but they can be replenished as often as you like.

How much does the treatment cost?

The cost of a treatment to rejuvenate aged skin with Profhilo® starts at EUR 400 per session with Dr Duve. However, the exact price depends on the part of the body where the injection takes place, as it determines how much material is needed. What side effects can occur?

Profhilo® was developed to provide the best possible support for the skin and to ensure that it regenerates and produces hyaluronic acid. The absence of additives ensures best results and reduces the risk of side effects. However, they can never be completely ruled out. Swelling and redness are possible. If patients are unsure, they can always contact Dr Duve in case of side effects.
