What is Karisma filler and how does it work?

Karisma is a bio-filling soft filler used in aesthetic medicine to correct age-related changes in the face. Unlike traditional fillers, Karisma is made from natural ingredients – including hyaluronic acid, carboxymethyl cellulose and type I collagen – making it a safe option for facial wrinkle treatment.

It is a safe and effective alternative to traditional fillers. The filler stimulates the body’s natural production of collagen and hyaluronic acid – for a more youthful appearance.

For whom is the treatment suitable?

Overall, Karisma offers a safe and effective way to correct age-related changes in the face and thus achieve a natural and youthful appearance. Therefore, the filler is a recommended option for anyone who wants to offset volume loss and sagging skin. Small, superficial scars can also be reduced. However, it is important that the treatment is carried out by an experienced doctor such as Dr Duve.

What should be considered before the treatment?

Before the treatment, a thorough preliminary examination is carried out to ensure that the Karisma filler is suitable for you as a patient. At this time, Dr Duve will also discuss your medical history with you as well as any allergies you may have. If possible, refrain from taking blood thinners such as aspirin a few days beforehand, and do not wear make-up in the treatment area on the day of the treatment.

What is the procedure for the Karisma filler treatment?

The application begins with a thorough cleansing and disinfection of the area to be treated. The filler is then injected under the skin with a very fine needle to fill deep wrinkles and lines and tighten the skin. The treatment is painless, but if the patient wishes, an anaesthetic ointment can be applied beforehand. With preparation and follow-up, the procedure takes about 30 minutes.

What should I consider after the treatment?

There is no downtime after the treatment, meaning you can return to work immediately. However, in order to achieve the best possible result and avoid potential complications, a few aftercare measures are recommended. This includes cooling the treated area to reduce swelling and pain. Apart from that, protect the treated area from direct sunlight to avoid discolouration or irritation. Do not exercise on the treatment day and refrain from heavy lifting.

When will the result be visible?

Immediately after the treatment with Karisma, you can already expect a first improvement. Further results will appear over the course of the next few weeks. Wrinkles and lines are softened, and the tissue gains new volume. More importantly, the result is natural and lasts for up to a year.

What are the risks?

Karisma consists of hyaluronic acid-based ingredients that are already present in the skin. Therefore, the risk of allergic reactions or intolerances is low. Moreover, Karisma is applied under careful medical supervision by Dr Stefan Duve, MD, allowing for safe treatment performed under the highest hygiene standards. Slight swelling or redness may occur after application, but it will disappear after a few days.
